Deakin Marine was set up in 2004 by Andrew Deakin, carrying out boat surveys and consultancy to leisure and commercial craft in GRP, steel and wood.
Andrew has qualifications in Naval Architecture (from Southampton Institute of Higher Education), Marine Surveying (from The International Institute of Marine Surveyors) and has completed the Westlawn Yacht and Boat Design Program. Andrew has been in the boating industry for over 25 years and is a full member of RINA (The Royal Institution of Naval Architects).
Andrew is an experienced boatbuilder and has worked in boat yards in Australia and New Zealand and with Ryan and Roberts Marine Services in Askeaton, Co. Limerick.
Andrew has been a regular user of the Inland Waterways having first cruised on a Birchwood 33 from Killaloe in 1979 at the age of 4! Sailing experience includes everything from mirrors to match racing to ‘Chieftain’ the Cookson 50 canting keeler with notable class wins in the Round Ireland, Round Britain and Ireland and the Sydney to Hobart.
Deakin Marine carries full Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance.
